Anxiety occurs when we become uncontrollably worried about something to the extent that it interferes with normal day to day life. Sometimes the cause is known and other times the anxiety has seemingly come from nowhere. Anxiety can cause physical and mental symptoms such as elevated heart rate, irritability, poor sleep patterns, shortness of breath, sweating, trembling, tension and low self-esteem.
Hypnotherapy can help by identifying the triggers or cause of your anxiety and then re-framing it so that you can regard it in a calm and controlled way. Once you have established a position of control over your anxiety it loses it’s power to control you.
Panic attacks are an extreme symptom of anxiety. People who experience a panic attack often describe the experience as terrifying and may even feel in fear of their own life. Symptoms include those of anxiety but in addition may include hyperventilation, nausea, fainting, heart palpitations, sensations of choking and heart pain. The symptoms typically last from a few moments to thirty minutes but can last longer.
During hypnotherapy I will identify the cause of your panic attack and change your perception of it. I will enable you to control your symptoms and reduce or eradicate them. For some the elimination of panic attacks happens immediately. For others an increasing reduction in the severity of symptoms is experienced.
